The algorithms of our research group are generally applicable to all problems related to the recognition of patterns in large data sets, such as:
- Industry: Predicting and monitoring equipment performance, fault detection in manufacturing processes and other related quality controls processes.
- Medical diagnosis: Analysis of MRI or other type of images in order to detect diseases.
- Bioinformatics: Classification of proteomic genomic data, prediction of data folding and interactions of proteins, and molecule properties.
- Education: Detection of students with learning problems and prediction of the best reinforcement actions.
- Financial: Prediction of risk profiles of customers.
- Recommender systems: determine the interests of a user based on their historical behavior and that of other users.
- Web mining: application of data mining techniques to discover patterns in the web, its content (web content mining) or structure (web structure mining) and the access behaviors of users access it (web usage mining).
- Age, growth and feed analysis from teeth images, applicable in palaeontology and the forensic industry. Link
