The project has been chosen among the three finalists of the SALTO AWARDS 2023, which reward the best European projects.
The eEarlyCare-T project (Specialized and updated training on supporting advance technologies for early childhood education and care professionals and graduates - No. 2021-1-ES01-KA220-SCH-9A787316) has been positively assessed by SEPIE (Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education) in its interim quality report.
Developed by researchers from three European universities - University of Burgos, University of Roma Tre (Italy) and the Croatian University of Sveuciliste u Rijeci -, with the participation of the Spanish companies Gestionet Multimedia S.L. and Kveloce I+D+i, eEarlyCare-T is focused on the training update of practising professionals and new professionals in the field of early childhood care (ages 0-6 years).
During the sixth meeting of this project, co-funded by the European Union, the eEarlyCare-T cooperation partnership presented this SEPIE report which includes a "very good" assessment in all the monitoring points of the project: Management and implementation, transnational meetings, results, learning activities, teaching and training, impact and dissemination, and budget execution.
The criteria of accessibility, attractive design and usability of the project results were rated very positively. These materials and web resources are training modules related to the development of disorders at early ages, the application of data mining techniques and the use of intelligent resources for diagnosis and intervention at these ages.
The results of the first intellectual product of the project will be disseminated to society in general during the European Researchers' Night on Friday 29 September. The eEarlyCare-T project has joined this initiative as part of its commitment to scientific dissemination and will offer workshops on Virtual laboratories-learning in early care at the Station of Science and Technology from 17:15 to 20: 10 h., as it will do in the ERASMUS DAYS to be held in the Hall of Degrees of the Faculty of Health Sciences on Friday 13 October 2023 from 10:00 to 13:00.
This involvement of the project with Open Science has also been recognised with its nomination as one of the three finalists, in the Digital Transformation category, of the SALTO AWARDS 2023, which reward the best European projects.
During the meeting, the lines of continuity were also discussed with regard to the development of the second intellectual output, virtual simulation laboratories to carry out practical activities related to the contents of the training modules. Currently, 6 of them have already been designed for the resolution of practical cases related to the intervention with children affected by prematurity, maturational delay, communication and language delay, West and Lennox Gastaut Syndrome, cerebral palsy and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). In addition, virtual laboratories are being developed for the use of integrated multichannel eye tracking technology and its application in a case of ASD, web applications applied to diagnosis, personalised intervention in different disorders and the use of bot technology (personal voice assistants) to help the early care professional in the diagnosis and intervention processes.
In these laboratories, the "Self-Regulated Learning" methodology is applied in simulation environments through the use of avatars, which include evaluation procedures and verification of learning through the use of process-oriented feedback.
The association also worked on the planning of the III transnational meeting, which will take place at the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka (Croatia) in January 2024 and three activities to be held at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Burgos over the next year: the II Learning Activities to be held in June 2024, the II Multiplier Event to be held on 2 and 3 October 2024 - which will be offered as an international conference with free registration - and the final transnational meeting of the project, to be held on 4 October 2024.
Dr Sáiz-Manzanares, coordinator of the project, Miriam Manrique from the OTRI, Irene González Díez and Carmen Varela Vázquez from GIR DATAHES have participated in this transnational meeting. From Kveloce Lorena Aguilar, Gabriela Munares; from the University of Roma Tre (Italy) Dr. Vincenzo Piccione; from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rijeka (Croatia) Dr. Darko Roviš, Vanja Vasiljev, Denis Juraga, Lovorka Bilajac, Tomislav Rukavina, Ivana Godnič, Mihaela Marinović and from the SME Gestionet Marko Txopitea.
